What software can I use to create web
pages?
Any program that creates web documents can be
used to create your web site. There are literally dozens of commercial
applications that are available at every level of cost.
We recommend purchasing robust
applications like DreamWeaver from Macromedia,
Adobe GoLive, or Microsoft's FrontPage.
However, HTML documents can be created and edited with most word
processors and desktop publishing programs. It doesn't matter what you
choose to edit your web site with, as long as you create documents
that a web browser can read.

How do I transfer my domain to your
hosting service?
Domains aren't actually TRANSFERRED to hosting
services. Domains can be TRANSFERRED to another REGISTRAR (the place
you registered your domain name), but a HOST is where you store the
web site files you want your domain to POINT to.
A web host is just a special computer (server) that you can store
files on so other people can access them via the Internet...usually
thru a web browser.
Your DOMAIN NAME REGISTRAR needs to know where you store your web site
files so that when people go to your domain, they land on the right
spot.
Your REGISTRAR points your domain to the correct host by associating
your domain with the name of the host server your files are on. The
server actually has 2 names called
NAME SERVERS. (Every domain MUST be
associated with at least 2 NAME SERVERS.)

What is FTP?
FTP means File Transfer Protocol and is the
most common method used for moving (uploading) files to a web server.
Once you create a web page or web site, you need a way to store a copy
of it on your web server (or host) so that it can be seen on the
Internet.
There are dozens of FTP programs available that help you send files
from your computer to your web server by logging into your hosting
account.
Most FTP programs access your host by it's domain name,
then log-in using your account id and password.
