Internet
Food-For-Thought while you search for a
web developer - Internet Marketing Company...
The
planning of a business web presence has many options. The very
first rule for you to follow is fairly simple. The design and
creation of your site is only 5 - 10% of your upcoming project, the rest is
marketing and constant updating for your marketing as the internet
community and the search engines change their habits, directions and rules.
(Internet Marketing is a full time job).
Do not
just have a web site built for you because that is exactly what you will
get... just a web site. During your consultation with any
developer, ask a couple very serious questions... "Do you plan
and build your web sites with complete meta tags and internet marketing"?
and... "Could you show me some of the web sites that you
created and marketed"? If they alter direction,
try to distract you or even say I'll get to that later, run very fast.
If there is no marketing planned for, then you are wasting the funds you
are about to spend.
Our main
rule is this, if you don't intend to market your web site, we will never
be able to make you happy with your new web presence and we would just as
soon you don't spend your money for something that won't work or
have a chance to become valuable asset to your business. (Our name is on it
also).
Other
rules to keep in mind...
1.
Make sure your new web site loads very fast with no distractions, why?..
because there are many potential customers still using slower dial-up
modems, older computers and people are impatient. They will go to a competitors web
site if yours won't load in a few seconds and immediately provide what
they are looking for upon entry.
2.
Colors: Believe it or not we even stay on top of what colors make
people more relaxed, what colors to stay away from. Plus that, each
monitor's color viewing can alter slightly, are you targeting the basic
colors that are common to all viewers?
3.
People use different resolutions on their computer's monitor... will your new
site be visible in all resolutions?
4.
Different Browsers, (Internet Explorer, Netscape.. etc.) can have
different effects on your web site, check to make sure your site works on
all of them.
5.
The best search engine, (rated #1), to check status and how much
competition you have is also the cleanest, (remember "clean" when having your
site built)
